Fairview Cemetery

The Town of La Grange owns and operates Fairview Cemetery. For more information on cemeteries, view the Revised Cemetery Ordinance (PDF).

Maintenance

Members of the Public Services Department are responsible for the other general cemetery maintenance including the roadways, and the removal of debris from the cemetery, and grave openings and closing. 

The Town contracts out the mowing and landscaping services to an independent contractor.

Flowers and Grave Decor

Each year, ALL Flowers, including those on top of monuments, must be removed before February 28^th and not put back until after the first full week of March so as to allow the Public Works department to do a thorough cleaning of the entire cemetery.

Cemetery Plot Sales

Town residents can purchase a single plot or 4 grave plot. Please refer to the current rate and fee schedule for pricing information. The Finance Department conducts sales of plots.

Opening & Closing of Graves

Prior to burial, you will need to notify the Town in advance to allow a person designated by the Town to mark the plot on which the burial is to occur. The Town provides opening or closing services for graves, outside contractors are not authorized to open or close graves within the Municipally owned cemeteries. Monument Installation Instructions

Prior to the installation of a permanent monument, the Town must also be notified in order to obtain a permit and schedule an appointment to have the monument set
